Gross Champs: Brandon Tudor & Nick Tudor | Net Champs: Claudia Wciorka & Dean Kirchoff

The 2021 AGT Series travelled to yet another amazing venue, this time it was Harbor Shores GC. This Jack Nicklaus design instantly became a classic course and has been elevated from the social media iconic video of Jack dropping a 100+ foot putt after arguing with Johnny Miller! If you have not yet made it to Michigan to play this course, you are missing out! It’s truly one of the best in the country. Let’s check out who earned their right to compete at Big Cedar.

Playing the AGT Series FourBall format, the team of brothers in Nick and Brandon Tudor were the only team to tame the difficult course with a team score under par. The brothers went out in even par and got it under par when they attacked the par 5s with birdies at #10 and #15, leading to a 1 under 70. Dean Kirchoff and Claudia Wciorka had a chance to force a playoff but the difficult 18th hole won the battle this time, still a great effort from the duo of friends! Officially the team of Anthony Zumpano and Frank Alaimo took home second place shooting a team score of 75 (more on that below). Nick and Brandon are headed to Big Cedar Lodge to compete for the National Title, congrats to the brothers!

Another unique feature of the AGT Series, is the Gross Bias scoring. Gross Bias places the priority and emphasis on the Gross division, but allows for competition down to the very end and affects the overall event, including the Net division. Even though the emphasis is placed on the Gross Bias, the format allows for the best finish possible for teams and this event was the perfect example. While the team of Kirchoff and Wciorka were disappointed in their final finish on 18, the Net division was still up for grabs. Since every team is competing for BOTH the Gross and Net, players are having more fun, case in point. Kirchoff and Wciorka carded a gross score of 73, but that translated into a Net score of 6 under, 65 good for 1st place in the Net division and good for a qualifying spot in the National Championship. It was a day of highs and lows. Second place in the net division went to the team of Mike McLaughlin and Rick Batrich as they finished 1 shot back, carding a Net 66.

In the Gross Skins game, 8 skins split the skins pool, with each skin worth $90

  • Ron Oberstar - Birdie on #3
  • Rich Batrich - Birdie on #4
  • Michael Cox - Birdie on #5
  • Brandon Tudor - Birdie on #10
  • Brandon Tudor - Birdie on #15
  • Anthony Zumpano - Birdie on #16
  • Brian O’Sullivan - Birdie on #17
  • Mike McLaughlin - Birdie on #18

In the Swag Golf Putting Contest, the players had a blast taking turns at knocking down the putts. Each player had a chance to win a custom fit putter courtesy of Swag Golf. This week's winner was Chris Inglot
